Unfortunately, in the past, I've not been disciplined about collecting the references (based on which I've formed this opinion). So, I don't have a handy set of pointers for you. But this a topic such that if you start keeping an eye out for it, you'll soon start seeing instances in your regular reading.

There's a book called 'The Fuzzy and the Techie' which has some decent insights on this
